Hello, world.
Fun fact: I’ve been blogging on Google’s blogspot for over 20 years now (see the useless first post here). And I’ve been meaning to get off it for at least a quarter of that time.
A lot of my content has diverged into other streams, such as my worknotes, and my photography. I’m trying to self-host these as much as possible, using more federated, and less for-profit services to “augment” my presence. But I’ve never quite got round to fully replacing the OG blog.
Until now, I guess – this is the new 6days blog, which is where I’ll post the miscellany that doesn’t fit anywhere else. I’ve got no hard or fast rules about content here, which is kind of liberating – expect a bit more of a stream of consciousness as per the old blogging approach, but safe in the knowledge that 1) Google can’t just shut it down or own it any moment, and 2) if my tech does fail, I probably haven’t tested my backups in at least 6 months.
Hmmmm.
Anyway, some usual conventions apply. It’s running on a Raspberry Pi 3+. It’s using WordPress. WebMentions should be enabled? The subdomain is a “6” followed by four letters. Maybe “6days” is a reference to God creating the Universe. Maybe it’s not.
And you can find the RSS feed here for posts – although if you’re seeing this in your RSS feeds already, then you’re signed up to the aggregated feed across all sites (and will probably also see a post soon about moving away from blogspot).
Okey, it’s cold and windy and sunny outside so it must be 21st century spring. Let’s go.
