The really cool bit is what looks to be all the existing houses that have panels on top though – the UK will sadly never dream so large or get political buy-in for large-scale farms, I suspect, but retrofitting remains a distinct (if far-flung) possibility.

In the ongoing world of webmentions, Fershad Irani has enabled webmentions on their blog, so consider this another test ping. Fershad is definitely worth a follow for insightful greentech thoughts, but the overlap between planetary sustainability and personal sovereignty, self-hosting, and freedom of thought – anti-extractionism across all levels – is something that needs highlighting each and every day.
Branch Magazine issue 9 is out now. Subbed ‘A Sustainable Internet for All’, this issue has some intriguing-looking titles (such as “An Internet that Works with Our Natural Rhythms”) that I’m hoping to read on holiday.
Lastly, I was also thrilled to discover Patch magazine at the recent Develop conference. An indie mag for indie games, and very affordable at that. Very tempted to try it out for a bit.
